Launch and Monitor Sales Campaigns

JUN-OCT 2017

FEATURE OVERVIEW

In Sellf, Campaign management allows sales admins and managers

to plan and execute sales campaigns and track real-time results.

Campaign Builder and Tracking

PROJECT GOALS

PROBLEM/REQUIREMENTS FROM OUR CUSTOMER

  • increase the sale of some products/ insurance policies in particular time of the year;
  • sales agents had difficulties in focusing on hot deals, linked to the sales campaign;
  • target new prospects or existing customers;
  • communicate the starting date of the campaign to the whole team;
  • motivate sales agents;
  • track campaign results with less effort.
  • create a new module, which at the same time is embedded and integrated in the platform and that doesn't complicate the experience and navigation;
  • add features to keep the team engaged and motivated;
  • develop a campaign builder for admins;
  • develop dashboards for admins and sales agents to focus on campaign deals and monitor the progress towards their goal.

BRAINSTORMING & CONCEPT

We made several brainstorming meetings to develop the whole concept of this new requested feature and we came up with the idea to make the campaign module as a tool to run "sales contests", using gamification principles in order to engage sales agents.

I conducted all the research for the competitive analysis and worked alongside the backend developer, Sellf founders to align with customers weekly during our in-office work sessions. After mapping out all the research I designed wireframes to be presented to all the members of Sellf Team and our main customer, who is now testing the module.

Sales Manager/Sales Operation view

  • campaign setup;
  • define participants in the contest;
  • target customers (importing spreadsheets or existing clients);
  • define who can access leaderboards.

Sales Rep view

  • receive notifications when the campaign starts and when deals/ leads are assigned from the Sales Manager;
  • can check his own progress and compete with others through leaderboards;

Communications

  • email and push notifications when the campaign starts;
  • email and push notifications about the progress;
  • final email and report.

KEY FEATURES

Proposals for data visualization and flows

We decided to use the bar chart (instead of circular chart already used in Sellf) to show the progress towards the campaign goal. This  makes a clear distinction between the regular "monthly" sales goal assigned to each sales manager from the temporary goal assigned for the sales campaign.

WIREFRAMES

Since the setup features

were quite clear in our minds,

we started in investigating on the visualization of data that the customer needed to track in his campaign dashboards.

Flow and navigation

FINAL RESULT

Initially we thought to develop a new section to access deals (sales opportunities) generated by a sales campaign. As the project progressed we realized that this could have made the flow more complex for the sales agent, since Sellf app has already lots of functionalities and various app sections.

We needed to integrate deals linked to a campaign into the main deals screen.

This also let us to improve the navigation of this page. Let's see how below:

OLD DEALS NAVIGATION

1

In Sellf users can browse deals grouped by “time period” or by “sales funnel/pipeline”.

The Icon to switch between "Timeline" view to "Sales Pipeline" view was not so intuitive.

In the new Deals screen Tabs are now used to switch between "Timeline", "Pipeline" and the new "Campaigns" visualization.

Deals linked to a sales campaign

are also marked with a "gold" icon.

NEW DEALS NAVIGATION

The Time Period switch (Month, Quarter, Year) has been moved into the filters, since users told us that they didn't change this often.

Campaign Setup (on web platform)

Modal view that opens when clicking on "New Campaign":

too many action and options to fill in.

HI-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Campaign Builder step-by-step:

the user is not overwhelmed by all the fields he has to complete.

He can save a "Draft" of his campaign project  and have a "summary" after the configuration steps.

Campaign Builder Steps

  • Assign a name to the campaign;
  • Choose the target;
  • Define participants among the team;
  • Visibility permissions (for leaderboards);
  • Duration;
  • Configure deals;
  • Add more info - videos, description (optional);
  • Summary
